About the Event
Join us as we partner with Brownicity in this hands-on workshop to learn more about the skin we’re in! Children ages preschool - 5th grade, along with their caregivers, will explore their own identity and feel empowered to openly recognize, embrace, and celebrate our multi-hued world! Crafted by an experienced educator and advocate for antiracism, Hues of You offers a smart and honest starting point to help kids and families have natural, effective, and meaningful conversations that build connection and positive pathways regarding diversity within humanity.
We'll tackle questions like: "Why do I look like some people and different than others?" and "Why do we call people Black and white when their skin is not actually black or white"? - check out this quick video to learn more.
We're offering this workshop on a Pay What You Can with a minimum payment of $50 per family to offset costs to the organization. Any gifts above the $50 registration fee will go to scholarships and furthering the mission of ASA. If cost is prohibitive to your attendence, please reach out to molly@adoptionsupportalliance.org to request a scholarship.
Special thanks to Foundation for the Carolinas for grant funding and Foster Village Charlotte for sponorship to help offset the cost of this workshop for families!
